As we do every year, I’d like to take a moment to share with you how we’re doing financially as a parish. Below is the report for this past year at Holy Innocents. This has been a highly unusual year in our country which has created challenges for every household, company, and institution. I am glad to be able to say that our parish weathered the 2019-20 fiscal year with some stability, all things considered. Here are a few reasons for that stability:
The generosity of our parishioners. Even when public Masses were not taking place, many of you continued to send in or drop off donations. Many of you also continued to give electronically or switched to electronic giving by signing up for WeShare.
During his year here, Fr. Gorman made adjustments to the budget in a focused effort to manage parish expenses
While the pandemic brought financial challenges, it also cut down on some expenses
By applying for the Paycheck Protection Program we were able to maintain the salaries of our employees without diminishing our parish funds
I would like to extend a very big word of appreciation to each of you who have been so generous during this last year. Your contributions go to a very grateful parish. I also want to say thank you in advance for everyone’s continued generosity. While we are thankful for having weathered the last year we will continue to rely on the generosity of our parishioners as we continue to navigate an uncertain year. Finally, I would like to offer thanks to the members of our finance council: Sandon Moore, Barbara O’Neil, Mike Cusack, Nick Antonaccio, and the council’s chairperson-emeritus Mary Sullivan – for each of their invaluable assistance to me in steering the financial aspect of our parish.
We continue to walk with Christ in trust and love. Peace,
